Living our Purpose: Midrex Continues Commitment to Supporting LLS: Our 2024 Impact

Midrex has a long-standing tradition of giving back to our community, with teammates dedicating both their time and resources to support those in need while advancing critical medical research. This year, we continued our partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS), a leading organization in the fight against blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma. LLS is dedicated to funding lifesaving blood cancer research, providing free support services to patients and families, and advocating for access to quality, affordable care.
Our partnership with LLS is especially meaningful as we honor the strength, resilience, and perseverance of Shohei Manabe, a beloved Kobe Steel colleague and long-time Midrex advocate, who courageously battled malignant lymphoma.
In 2024, we once again supported LLS through a variety of initiatives, including raffles, cooking fundraisers, a pumpkin decorating contest, and more. We also participated in the LLS Light the Night walk on November 16th in Charlotte, NC, and proudly served as sponsors for the event. As part of our sponsorship, we volunteered in the popular Glow Zone, where we handed out glow-in-the-dark goodies, creating a fun and vibrant experience for participants.
Brandy Reese, our Director of People and Culture, was honored to serve as an Executive Sponsor for Light the Night this year. She represented herself, her family, and Midrex with great pride and dedication. Thanks to the generous contributions from our teammates, we were able to raise nearly $40,000 for LLS in 2024, making a significant impact in the fight against blood cancer.
