This year, Midrex India proudly celebrates its 15th anniversary, marking a decade and a half of commitment to supporting the iron and steel industry in India and the broader region. Since its establishment, the team has provided valuable technical expertise, engineering support, and customer assistance, contributing to the successful implementation and operation of MIDREX™ technology projects.
Established in 2011 to support India’s rapidly expanding ironmaking industry, Midrex India has grown into a trusted regional presence and an integral part of the global Midrex organization. Over the past 15 years, the team has worked closely with customers, project teams, and global colleagues to help support the execution and operation of MIDREX technology facilities across the world.
Among the office’s notable milestones was supporting the 2014 start-up of India’s first MxCol™ plant at Jindal Steel and Power, and the start-up of JSW Toranagallu COREX™ export gas DRI plant – only the second of its kind globally. These milestones demonstrated the flexibility of MIDREX technology in supporting diverse ironmaking requirements. More recently, the establishment of the Engineering Team at Midrex India in 2023 expanded local engineering and technical support capabilities, strengthening the resources available to customers and project teams across the region.
To commemorate this milestone anniversary, the Midrex India team gathered for a special office celebration in August. The event provided an opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of the past 15 years and recognize the dedication and contributions of teammates.
As Midrex India looks to the future, the team remains focused on providing high-quality technical and engineering support, strengthening customer relationships, and contributing to the continued advancement of the iron and steel industry.
